The evening features an address by an authority on Sir Winston Churchill plus a separate presentation of the Churchill Society Award for Excellence in the Cause of Parliamentary Democracy. Thank you to everyone who attended the Twenty-Third Annual Churchill Society Dinner and also to those who donated generously as sponsors, patrons and silent auction participants. Funds raised will support our educational programme, Recipient of the Award for Excellence in the Cause of Parliamentary Democracy Honourable Ed Broadbent, P.C., C.C. Guest speaker Professor David Bercuson, O.C. Military and political historian, analyst & commentator; Director, Centre for Military and Strategic Studies, University of Calgary; Author, One Christmas in Washington: The Secret Meeting Between Roosevelt and Churchill that Changed the World A high point of the evening was former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney's tribute to Ed Broadbent. Toronto Mayor David Miller introduces his political role model, Ed Broadbent. Newly-elected Toronto Councillor John Parker and Ontario Legislature Internship Programme Intern Laura Dougan look on.
