Parliament 2009:  What Kind of Country Will We Have?
A Forum Exploring Parliamentary Democracy in Contemporary Canada

Sponsored by the Churchill Society for the Advancement of Parliamentary Democracy and the
Munk Centre for International Studies

The political crisis that occurred before the Governor General prorogued the most recent legislative session on Parliament Hill caused Canadians to seek out news & analysis to better understand our political system.

The Churchill Society for the Advancement of Parliamentary Democracy, in partnership with the University of Toronto Munk Centre, has organized a free Citizens' Forum where representatives from the three major political parties can express their views on the ‘crisis’ & how they believe things will unfold once Parliament resumes on the 26th.

Panelists will discuss the ‘basics’ of Parliamentary Democracy, parliamentary procedure, political strategy, minority governments & more. The discussion will wrap with questions from the floor.
